This Sunday we will all be gathering together for a special family service. Every generation in one room, to sing, pray, learn, and respond to the Gospel. 

We’re excited to gather together, and you can prepare by reading ahead (and sleeping well):

Psalm 127

(Unless the Lord Builds the House)

A Song of Ascents. Of Solomon.

127 Unless the Lord builds the house,
    those who build it labor in vain.
Unless the Lord watches over the city,
    the watchman stays awake in vain.
It is in vain that you rise up early
    and go late to rest,
eating the bread of anxious toil;
    for he gives to his beloved sleep.

Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord,
    the fruit of the womb a reward.
Like arrows in the hand of a warrior
    are the children[1] of one’s youth.
Blessed is the man
    who fills his quiver with them!
He shall not be put to shame
    when he speaks with his enemies in the gate.[2]

Matthew 7:24-29

Build Your House on the Rock

24 “Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock. 26 And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand.27 And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell, and great was the fall of it.”

The Authority of Jesus

28 And when Jesus finished these sayings, the crowds were astonished at his teaching, 29 for he was teaching them as one who had authority, and not as their scribes.

This Week’s Family Verse (Seek First)

So do not worry, saying “what shall we eat?” or “what shall we drink?” or “what shall we wear?” for the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Family Verses & Scripture Songs

All this year we’re connecting Scripture meditation (memory verses) to singing. Music is a great way to help us memorize and to have fun doing it. Our family verses will be from the Seeds Family Worship. We are currently on Seeds of Purpose, with song #2: Treasure.
