500: Reformation Sunday

Listen in on moments in our all-church whole family gathering on Reformation Sunday.

Reformation Sunday introduction

Five hundred years ago, on October 31st, 1517 a young priest named Martin Luther nailed his Ninety-five Theses to the door at the chapel in Wittenberg, seeking public debate on the theological errors, abuses and indulgences rampant in the Roman Catholic church. This moment and man joined so many others in leading to what’s known as the “Protestant Reformation.”

The Gospel was unleashed to the masses, a reformation to bring freedom, purpose and joy in Christ to all people.

Book: What is the Gospel?

God has some good news for you and it’s called the Gospel. “What’s the Gospel?” you say. It’s the good news that even though we sin and have disobeyed God, we can have life and joy as part of God’s kingdom.
You see I don’t deserve God’s goodness, but he reached down and rescued me even when my sin had made me his enemy.
This book explains what the Gospel is – not just parts of it.
