King Hezekiah of Judah developed a history with God by taking all his challenges and opportunities and laying them out before God the Creator. In those moments He learned to depend full upon the real King to win all his battles for him and as he was responsible to lead the nation.

How can we learn from this good king and join in the joy of developing a personal history with God? Consider who looks to you for leadership, how can you turn from trusting in yourself and abilities and cry out to God in the battle?

We also sang a new song, “Battle Cry,” written providentially for this moment by a Renew song leader and in a collaboration with another musician within the church family. The lyrics:

My Savior is alive
This is my battle cry
The pow’r of hell defeated
The son of God is seated
Upon His throne above
He’s robed in light and love
And every knee will bow
And every tongue cry out, singing

You are Holy, God
You are Holy, God

We will raise our battle cry today
For the war we wage is won
And we’ll raise a shout as you cast out all our doubt
Bringing glory to Your son

The Lord be magnified
My tongue will not be tied
Jesus is the proof
And I will speak the truth
To every man and beast
About your victory
‘Til all the world knows
And every heart bows low, singing

We raise our battle cry
Darkness defeated by the light
We raise our battle cry
For You We raise our battle cry
Jesus victorious, be magnified
We raise our battle cry For You

We will raise our battle cry today
And we will praise our King
For the blood he shed for us that made a way
To end all suffering
