Week 20 of EPHESIANS » God’s Ultimate Purpose
Message title: Servants & Masters: when the Gospel goes to Work
Scriptures: Ephesians 6:5-9
Preacher: Jeff Patterson
Date: 7/7/13

Listen or download:

  1. Work is all a divine calling.
  2. Work requires all of your heart.

Work is God’s way of meeting your needs through the contributions of others (and your contribution into their lives).

Scripture:
Colossians 3:23 (Kids’ memory verse):

In all the work you do,
work the best you can.
Work like you work for God,
not like you work for man.

Ephesians 6:5-9

Bondservants, obey your earthly masters with fear and trembling, with a sincere heart, as you would Christ, not by the way of eye-service, as people-pleasers, but as bondservants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart, rendering service with a good will as to the Lord and not to man, knowing that whatever good anyone does, this he will receive back from the Lord, whether he is a bondservantor is free. Masters, do the same to them, and stop your threatening, knowing that he who is both their Master and yours is in heaven, and that there is no partiality with him.

Servants

We are servants of Jesus who love our Master by serving others around us.
