Women’s Disciplemaking

We are so excited to begin gathering together again, encouraging each other and helping each other grow in Christlikeness. We are expanding a bit on Women’s Bible Study this year, with the goal of being more intentional about being and making disciples of Jesus. As you know, the Great Commission in Matthew 28:18 is to Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.”

Discipleship can be kind of a vague, churchy word, and how to “make disciples” can be equally vague and churchy 🙂 but Jesus is defining it simply as, “Teaching them to obey all I have commanded you.”

Making disciples is anything (& everything) we do to help those around us follow (love & obey) Christ.

However, while this may seem simple, it isn’t automatic. Just as godly, intentional parenting doesn’t just happen, intentional Christ-centered disciple-making doesn’t just happen. We must be purposeful in our relationships in order to effectively help each other follow Christ. So, while we’re keeping with the same general pattern of studying the New Testament together, we’ll also be breaking into smaller disciple-making groups (3-4) for more intentional time to pray for each other, share details about our lives, and encourage one another in our disciple-being and disciple-making. Each small group will have a leader to give guidance and direction to that time, to pray for you, and to initiate other time together for more opportunities to spur one another on to love and good works.

You game? I sure hope so, because I’m more excited than ever about this opportunity to grow in community, accountability, friendship, and Christlikeness.

Let us know you’re in! Elisha will be overseeing Wednesday mornings and Kari will be overseeing Wednesday nights. We’re now studying Paul’s Second Letter to the Corinthians (2 Cor.), and as always, the cost is FREE. 🙂
